Mission:

{About G.V.Y.C.}

GVYC started out in the heart of Greenwich Village as a youth program that provided recreational services to the most at-risk and diverse young people on the streets. In 1978, GVYC was incorporated as a nonprofit organization and invited to initiate drug prevention programs by New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services and then NYC Board of Education. For over three decades, GVYC has provided free services and reached out to the most underserved population in the City of New York with funding from federal, state and city government agencies, and private foundations and donors.
