Description:
Project Healthy Moms is an important new initiative by Mental Health America of Georgia, in partnership with the Georgia Postpartum Support Network (GPSN) and Postnatal Psychiatric Disorders Acceptance through Compassion and Education (PACE). Our goal is to provide support and education about post-partum depression for women in Georgia.
The main objectives of Project Healthy Moms include the following:
Disseminate screening/educational/resource material regarding post-partum depression to OB/GYNs, pediatricians, primary care doctors, pharmacists, county health departments, and county mental health departments.
Train healthcare and mental healthcare personnel to screen for post-partum depression and provide information and referrals as necessary.
Provide conferences and workshops for sufferers of post-partum depression, providers, and families.
Implement support groups around the community as well as online question and answer support and warmlines.
Advocate for and help craft public policy that will focus on promoting the mission of Project Healthy Moms.
Our vision is for Project Healthy Moms to be the leading source of information relating to awareness, identification, treatment, and support of post-partum depression for women throughout Georgia.
