Description:

It is estimated that half Tanzania’s population is less than 18 years old. Yet we know little about the lives of these approximately 18 million children, who have increasingly important economic and social roles in our society.

Researchers are invited to submit concept notes for research projects on children's issues in Tanzania.

Children want and need to be heard – they can provide a valuable perspective which should be taken into account by adults. For example, as ‘consumers’ of education and health services, children can provide useful information for those working for and with children – policy makers, teachers, healthcare workers, etc.

Further information on this call for concept notes for research projects can be obtained from REPOA's wesbite, or from REPOA. repoa@repoa.or.tz

As this is a developing area of research for Tanzania, collaborative projects with international research bodies and/or non-Tanzanian researchers will be welcomed.

Concept notes for research projects can be submitted at any time, however submissions received before the following dates will coincide with our review cycle:
15 October 2008 - will be reviewed by December 2008
1 February 2009 – will be reviewed by April 2009
