Description:
Maryland state employees have been furloghed for 5-10 days this year as a result of budget cutbacks in these difficult economic times. To show support, Maryland Citizens for the Arts (MCA) has galvanized arts organizations across the state to offer special promotions and discounts to Maryland State employees. Over 30 arts organizations have already established special promotions for State employees. Theaters, museums, orchestras, festivals, and other artistic institutions across the state will be offering free and discounted tickets, family events, 2-for-1 offers, gift shop discounts and giveaways. MCA is coordinating this program and expects the list of organizations participating to expand in the days ahead.
