Description:
Need volunteers urgently to work in one of twenty shanty schools giving basic education, nutrition love and/or medical assistance to extremely poor, abandoned or abused children.
International volunteers in these projects live in comfortable housing in the centre of some of Peru's best known cities. Peruvian teachers and school directors are drawn from the communities where the schools are located: normally in the poorest barrios and villages. Each morning the international volunteers join the Peruvian staff to operate little schools where the poorest and most abandoned children can come to receive a basic education, love and help.
We also provide Social Workers and Psychologists.
Participation costs between €100 and €370 per month, depending on volunteere´s choices.
The volunteers in these projects are offered free Spanish lessons to help them better communicate with the children and professionals, and they in turn teach their native languages to the community in the evenings. Week ends are free to sightsee, travel or relax.
