Description:
General Crime Victim Services is a 24 hour hotline serving crime victims in Minnesota. We are currently seeking volunteers or interns to help provide this valuable service by taking shifts as a volunteer advocate. Shifts can be done from a Council cell phone that you can bring home with you, or you can do the shifts in office. All schedules are flexible. All we require is a year commitment and at least 3 shifts a month. You'll gain valuable experience while making your community a better place to live.
Here are the steps to becoming a volunteer:
1. Fill out a volunteer application.
Email us for an application.
2. Interview
Schedule a time to do either a phone or in-person interview. It will take 10-15 minutes.
3. Attend Training
The next volunteer training will be in March 2009.
5. In-office orientation and court visit
This takes place after training and we will discuss it further at training.
6. You’re ready to join our volunteer team!
