Description:
The American Red Cross in Greater New York relies on volunteers to provide lifesaving services and training for over 9 million people in the Greater New York area. Each volunteer is interviewed by the Volunteer Resources Department prior to placement in an Area Office or Department. The Volunteer Interviewer conducts the interview and provides the prospective volunteer with information about the next steps in the intake process.
Time Commitment/Shifts:
• One 5 - 8 hour shift a week during normal business hours, possibility for evening and weekend hours
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Experience with conducting interviews a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of the Internet
Training/Support:
•Volunteer Orientation & Fulfilling Our Mission (4hours)
•Additional training on the use of our database/systems as needed
•Interview training
