Description:
A Wider Circle is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and adults to break the cycles of poverty and poor health. Our comprehensive wellness programming helps individuals gain greater control of their well being, while the delivery of furniture, home goods and more helps individuals and families meet their basic needs.
Our Public Housing Wellness Program is an innovative partnership with the District of Columbia Housing Authority and public housing residence councils to create a city-wide health and wellness program for residents of public housing. The program focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, empowered self-care, the provision of basic needs, and the enrichment of common areas.
Volunteers teach residents basic nutrition information, assist with arts and crafts activities, and assist with our Wellness Brunches. Volunteers may also run health and wellness workshops.
The dates and times will vary based on our needs and your availability.
