Description:
These managers will facilitate and host eco-education programs across the U.S. initially expanding to an international program in time. A unique method of eco-education is being launched by The Environmental Education Center hereafter referred to as “The Center”. Some of the duties and responsibilities include: • Coordinate behind the scene program and administrative duties. • Communicate event schedules to maintenance department staff and set-up/take-down crew. • Responsible to ensure set-up is complete and meets expectations. • Will have staff present throughout events to assist, answer questions, and to facilitate rapid growth for eco-education at Earth Concert and other events • Will use Club Management System to fully manage events. • Communicate to contract customers one month and one week prior to event for detail and follow-up on all issues. • Complete post event check list and shall obtain follow-up survey from all participants and customers. • Shall coordinate event flyers for all potential participants. • Will greet, welcome and deliver the incoming guests when event desk personnel are unavailable. • Complete any necessary tasks designated by the Activities Manager. • May be required to attend seminars and classes related to events planning and coordination. • Complete monthly computer/paper generated reports. • Maintain membership in local chapters of key organizations as determined by management. The Center will change eco-education as it’s known today.
Skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Recreation Management or Hospitality Management preferred. • Hold current CPR and First Aid Certification a plus. • Previous experience in hospitality industry a plus. • Experience in a continuous improvement environment a plus. • Possess a valid Drivers License. • Prefer two years experience in event planning and budgeting. Skills/Abilities • Interface with organizations, businesses and co-workers. • Productivity: great attendance, good work quality, positive contributor, good team manager with strong people skills. • Self-sufficient and excellent ability to resolve concerns or problems. • Honesty: truthful, trustworthy, doing what is right and what needs to be done, is fair and objective, possesses integrity, and treats others with respect. • Loyalty: committed to the goals of the organization, the nature of the business, respects the organization’s efforts, defends the company name, provide the best effort supported by true sincerity. • Initiative: ability to think, work and make independent decisions based on sound judgment. • Achieves high level of proficiency in PC technology, Event Management System and all MS Office applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Excellent written and verbal skills. • Excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills. • Ability to manage competing priorities and assignments. • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment. Eco-Education Event Managers will need to strive for continuous improvement while being fully adaptable to rapid change.
