Description:
Deaf Program:
To bring up deaf issues for awareness, advocate their rights, rehabilitate their disabilities, sign language movement and achieve equalization. The centuries old concepts, beliefs, poverty and backwardness that have mode deaf people to be more sufferer, have compelled them to live, all the time, at the mercy of hearing community, thereby, their rights have always been cursed and lived a life of nothing.
The deaf people have identified the causes. One of the major causes of it is the situation created by the stat of no communication and language minority group was our findings with the Nepal Sign Language movement. Around this our activities concentrate.
Our main focus is on and around the 'deaf' as a person, thereby, we face, instantly, the situation of non communication affecting their life, which is invisible handicapped. The situation arising due to non communication is our concern which can be remedied, their sufferings can be removed, they can be fully brought in communication, strengthened and equalized. But with the few simple lines of words can not conclude it, there involved many factors that determine the process of and level of achievements.
1) 'Deaf', a person, main concern as user in here.
2) 'Sign language' is a natural language of the deaf, they should allow using and living in sign language environment, taken it as their human right.
3) 'Deaf community' – language evolve in community, where persons, frequently, meet and use language; in the case of deaf, when they use sign language, thereby, the process of language evolution start.
4) 'Deaf culture' – to evolve deaf community and keep it cohesive, good discipline and better understanding is necessary, which is culture, reflect in their ways of life, which will effect the evolution process. The deaf cultures should be protected, it is their right.
