Areas of need for Remedial and Special Education Volunteers include tutoring (one-on-one or group sessions) with emphasis on remedial reading and math, assessing children with emotional learning difficulties, facilitating speech therapy, and providing resources to teachers.

Cornerstone provides accommodations (dorm style), a hot home cooked Belizean midday meal on work days, orientations (volunteer, house, cultural, office, and program), staff direction, professional networking, mentoring, and office space (including equipment and supplies).

Cornerstone’s office and housing are located in San Ignacio in the Cayo District of Belize (11 miles from Guatemala). Volunteer terms range from three to six months. Applicants must be 18 years or older. Students, retirees, and other adults are welcome to apply.
