Department/Area Office: Disaster Planning & Response or Area Office
Location: All Locations
Opportunity Description:
Logistics Team Members ensure that the material needs of a disaster operation are met by procuring, organizing, keeping inventory, and delivering necessary supplies.
Ensures prepackaging and inventory of supplies on-site and in storage
Loads and delivers supplies to service delivery sites
Procures additional equipment as necessary
Screens buildings and storage sites to be used in disaster response
Time Commitment/Shifts:
• Hours determined by needs of each project, volunteers needed between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday – Saturday.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Ability to work independently and to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
• Comfort in working in an outdoor environment
• Computer proficient
• Bi-lingual language skill highly desirable
Training/Support:
•Volunteer Orientation & Fulfilling Our Mission (4 hours)
•Logistics: An Overview (3 hours)
•Logistics Simulation (4 hours)
