School librarian needed to manage check out of books, shelving books, and other aspects of managing a small primary school library. Inspire parents and teachers to volunteer so that the library will sustain itself. Read to the children and encourage them to read. The library check out system at the school was developed in the 2006-07 school year, but there are no funds to employee a librarian.

Cornerstone provides accommodations (dorm style), a hot home cooked Belizean midday meal on work days, orientations (volunteer, house, office, cultural, and program), contacts and networking within our professional community, mentoring, office space (including equipment and supplies), and volunteer visa access (necessary to stay in the country for more than 30 days).

Cornerstone’s office and housing are located in San Ignacio in the Cayo District of Belize (11 miles from Guatemala). The school is located across the street from the Cornerstone office. This position will need to be filled throughout the school year, but individuals may apply to volunteer for as little as three months. Applicants must be 18 years or older. Students, retirees, and other adults are welcome to apply.
