Description:
Volunteer Project: Ganganagar is a small village, part of Chitwan district in Narayani Zones, Central Nepal. The village is in need of a Community Center which is going to be run by local villagers, active in the field of education, environment, agriculture, forestry and culture. The center aims to provide free education for local students from elementary to high school level and also conducts various trainings on non-formal education matters like making handicraft, training in agriculture, cooking, playing traditional musical instruments, etc.
In this project, the international volunteers will teach English and will help local villagers to build a new building of the Community center. The volunteer groupor any other organization is requested to participate in this holy work by making donation to build a community center in Ganganagar.
Free Time: The local youth will help the volunteers discover the village area – forest, rivers, Sitamai temple, national park etc. Together they will take part in sports and cultural activities, and will get to know the local traditional dances, culture and music.
Fees: Application fee: $ 25.
Program fees: $ 250 for 2 weeks to 850 for 5 weeks.
Estimated Budget for Building of Community Center: $ 3000.
Fees are for accommodation and food during your volunteering period and transportation to and from project location. It also covers the Nepali language training and cultural knowledge tips and hotel accommodation and foods during your stay in kathmandu.
Note: Please be first to start holy work by donating this project. Your small effort may make great changes in the lives of rural poor people of Ganganagar.

Location: Ganganagar village is in the south part of Chitwan District. It is located 15 km south-west of Narayangarh –Main City of Chitwan and about 165 km far from Kathmandu City-Capital of Nepal. There is a river called Rapti adjacent to this village. The place is famous for its temple sitamai and Chitwan National park adjoining with Rapti River. Income of the people comes mainly from the agriculture and animal husbandry. People are supportive in nature.
