Description:
We run a Healthcare program that treats about 500 patients per week. This program is open to medical students, nurses, doctors, PAs, NPs, PA/NP students, nursing students, and EMTs. We have a clinic in the rural village of Kabula (western Kenya) and then run mobile clinics in rural villages 3 times a week. Volunteer pack up an SUV of supplies and medical equipment and then drive out to what appears to be the middle of nowhere to run these mobile clinics in very remote villages. Volunteer positions are open year round. Visit our website at http://www.volunteerkenya.org
The Program Fee for one month (per person) is $975 USD. The fee for each additional month is $680 USD. This includes pick-up and return to the Nairobi Airport , program materials and expenses (such as vehicle repair and gas), salaries for the Kenyan staff, and Room and Board. Volunteers receive 3 meals a day, 7 days a week while on the farm. Volunteers are housed in our 4-person volunteer huts located on what used to be a sugarcane farm in the heart of rural Africa . This “sugarcane farm” now contains a primary school, public library and clinic (all built and funded by volunteers and local community members). Not included in this fee are airplane tickets, bus tickets to/from Nairobi / Bungoma-$8USD, trip to/from the airport/Nairobi, safari fees, leisure travel, souvenirs, and food/drink outside of the home stay.
