Description:

Purpose of Position
1. Assist those 50+ to test skills and explore job opportunities
2. Help empower individuals to make informed employment and retirement decisions

Responsibilities of Position
In fulfilling the following specific responsibilities, the Information Navigator will be guided by the polices and procedures of the Association.

1. Represent AARP Older Worker Program to individuals, organizations, agencies and community partners within the Denver metro area
2. Expand personal knowledge and expertise on older worker issues and concerns
3. Serve as a resource to AARP members and the public on employment and retirement issues, including assisting participants to register online and demonstrating to members and the public how to navigate the various employment sites and evaluate skills.
4. Initiate and maintain relationships with participants
5. Introduce individuals and community partners to materials relating to older workers.

Qualifications
1. Interest in and awareness of employment issues as they relate to the older worker
2. Ability to work well with diverse populations
3. Self-confident and positive self-image
4. Willing to commit time necessary to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of this position
5. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing

Length of Service 1 year appointment

Time Required 4-8 hours a week on average
