Description:
Become a Florida Alliance for Student Service AmeriCorps*VISTA member with Human Services Coalition in Miami!
Human Services Coalition seeks to empower individuals and communities to create a more just and equitable society by promoting civic engagement, economic fairness, and access to health and human services. HSC conducts its work through coalition building, capacity building and innovation. Our focus communities are underserved, disempowered, and vulnerable people and communities, first in Miami Dade and then beyond. We invite them to partner with us to define and achieve shared goals. Specific programs include education and outreach on public benefits, leadership and advocacy training, and coordination of specific public policy campaigns.
The FASS AmeriCorps*VISTA Initiative is a service program that aims to empower students through volunteerism and service-learning to create positive change in our communities. VISTA members earn benefits, including a living allowance, health insurance, student loan forbearance, and a $4,725 education award to apply toward tuition, student loans, or future graduate studies. Applicants from out of state are eligible for a relocation allowance.
