It's free (of course) and easy to join. You don't have to worry about spam as animal welfare orgs have to sign up and be approved before they can search the volunteer database.
As a volunteer, you may be asked to help animal welfare organizations with projects ranging from newsletters to websites to adoption videos, on topics ranging from spay/neuter to puppy mill protests.
