Katrina's Angels, Inc., a non-profit disaster relief agency, needs Community Coordinators to coordinate and enhance the efforts of Community Angel volunteers in a designated community. Work on your own or with other Angels to identify helpful agencies and resources in your community. Work with agencies and organizations to identify and communicate with survivors in their communities to match them with various opportunities from our partner organizations. Check the phone book and the internet and lists places like distribution sites for water, food, and ice; shelters, blue roofs (tarps), medical care, and other resources during crises. Reports directly to the Resource Director. Help scope out needs on forums, googling small town web sites, etc., helping Katrina's Angels to locate those communities that become forgotten pockets of need following the hurricanes. Help distribute items to evacuees when needed. We are currently working with survivors of the recent hurricanes and floods. Report the needs of your community and update results to the Resource Director.

Individuals sought with computer experience, able to search the Internet, enter data, type e-mails and make phone calls. Make contacts with the community to provide content for the forum and web site, including news & announcements, housing, emergency shelters, employment, food and clothing. Let us know when there are local disasters and who needs what. Report directly to the Resource Director.

Computer literacy is a must and high speed internet and an unlimited long distance plan is a plus for you but not a requirement for us. This is strictly an unpaid, volunteer position. Great experience for your resume!
