Would you like to change young students' lives by encouraging them to become active community and international leaders, giving them a voice, and providing them with educational opportunities to advance their vision of global solidarity and progress? Become a Global Visionaries Board Member. Be part of our enthusiastic and creative team, which works to educate and empower youth to become active community leaders and global citizens who promote social and environmental justice through community services at home and abroad.
Selection Process
Members of the Global Visionaries Board of Directors are selected based on the following criteria:
1. Receipt and review of a cover letter and resume
2. Interview with the Executive Director and the Board President
3. Completion of introductory volunteer hours
Members of the Board of Directors are selected for an initial two year term with the option of additional term if responsibilities have been met.

In choosing to become a board member you will commit to: 1. Attend monthly meetings; 2. Fundraise; 3. Approve and oversee the organization's annual budget; What follows is optional: 4. Help determine and monitor the organization's programs and services; 5. Provide ongoing support and guidance for the executive; review his/her performance; 6. Ensure effective organizational and strategic planning; 7. Ensure adequate resources and manage resources effectively; 8. Enhance the organization's public image; 9. Assess board's own performance.

Seattle-based Global Visionaries educates and empowers youth to become active leaders and global citizens who promote social and environmental justice through volunteer work at home and abroad. A highlight of the program is the extraordinary international educational trip to Guatemala involving language and cultural immersion, volunteer work and adventure. The year-long Leadership Program provides youth a global perspective empowering them to understand the intrinsic relationships between local and international social and environmental justice issues and volunteer work. 50% of our students come from low-income families.
