Description:
New Life Community’s goal is for every family to have found a new place to live by the time they complete our program. However, many families don’t have a car of their own and are forced to try to move their possessions via public transportation. Volunteer Moving Assistants are needed to help residents transport clothing and small household items to their new homes. Large items or furniture are not moved, so volunteers do not need to have a truck or another large vehicle – any car would be helpful! Residents typically move out during the last weekend of the month. Hours can vary based on volunteer availability. Moving Assistants can volunteer every month, a couple times a year or anywhere in between. A few hours can really make a difference in a family’s life!
