As a Media Angel, you will help develop and implement the Media Plan for the organization. Specific duties may include: · Writing press releases and other articles for submission to news organizations. · Spreading the word about our work by developing text for the web site, clarifying links, and writing blogs and emails. · Developing fliers, posters, and other material used to fundraise and to advertise our services. · Assisting development of small media campaigns with the Media Director and other Media Angels. · Creating postings for various forums and on-line ads. · Researching news on local disasters. · Creating and sending press packets to different contacts in the media. · Posting headline links to our main web page. Requirements: · Self starter with the ability to work alone· Ability to show creativity and share ideas with others · Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word required. We are especially interested in hearing from you if you have the following: · Experience in marketing, media, advertising, communications, and/or PR · Graphic design experience and access to design software such as Adobe Photoshop If necessary, training will be provided on a one-to-one basis. Access to high speed internet and unlimited long distance would be helpful since you will need to communicate with other volunteers and send work electronically.
