Description:

SMF is a non governmental community based organization which started with the Siddhi Memorial Health Hospital, where they provide socially disadvantaged women and children with health care, education and health promotion.
The hospital also runs health camps in more remote areas of Bhaktapur and provides health education and awareness on HIV/STD's/family planning/nutrition/health & hygene.
SMF has a project for the elderly called the Siddhi Shaligram Briddhasram. This elderly home provides 24 hour residential care, medical attention, counseling, and activities promoting socialization.

Volunteers must be 18 or over 18 with minimum education of Undergraduation.
Volunteers can :
1.Help in hospital administration and management.
2.Assistance with developing better sustainability and fund raising is also imperative.
3. SMH would be happy to receive doctors and nurses especially with specialization in pediatrics and gynaecology. They are currently well staffed with general practitioners.
4. A specialized doctor could certainly help to train the local staff and help with health promotion.
5.Planning and managing health promotion camps and mobile clinics could be very helpful
6.Most volunteers chose to live on site at Siddhi Shaligram Briddhashram (Old Age Home). Potential side-jobs include running elderly community activities and assisting within the home.
