Description:
ASVO is a non-profit NGO which places volunteers in Costa Rica's national parks and protected areas. ASVO's objective is to improve the conditions and amount of volunteer work performed at a national and international level. This placement needs help to care for wild animals which have been captured illegally, held as pets, and in many cases mistreated, and rehabilitate them for release back into the wild.
Volunteer should be of the minimum age of 18 or above with minimum education of High School. Volunteers can help by doing following tasks:
1. Cleaning of animal cages.
2. Feeding animals.
3. Helping the veterinarian with various tasks.
4. Construction and maintenance of the park's trails.
5. Collection of leaves on trails and around park's facilities.
6. Cutting and collecting grass.
7. General maintenance.
8. Helping in the butterfly farm.
Volunteers with following special skills are preferred for this placement:
Forestry
Environmental Science
Biology
Veterinary Science
