ASVO is a non-profit NGO which places volunteers in Costa Rica's national parks and protected areas. ASVO's objective is to improve the conditions and amount of volunteer work performed at a national and international level.
As it is a relatively new sea turtle project, the Buenavista project is also quite small and not as well known as some of the other nesting areas such as Ostional or Tortuguero. Therefore volunteers are very important to the success of this program and the protection of the sea turtle population in this area.

Volunteers should be minimum age of 18 or above with minimum education of High School. Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:
1. Night patrols
2. Hatchery (24 surveillance)
3. General infrastructure maintenance
4. Hatchery building
5. Counting baby turtles and releasing them
6. Making Information signs
7. Environmental education
8. Beach cleaning

Volunteers with following special skills are preferred for this placement:
Environmental Science
Biology
Data Collection
Statistics
Hiking
