Description:

The Illinois Choice Action Team is looking for a grant-writer to assist us in finding grant opportunities, drafting letters of inquiry, and authoring grant proposals to obtain money for the organization’s operating costs and programs. The grant-writer will research, develop and write in-depth grant proposals on behalf of the organization and will work with the organization’s leadership to assess program needs and maximize proposal ideas. The volunteer will also work with the Resource Development Coordinator to create and meet budget requirements. This person will need to maintain organized files and track all grants that are submitted and all opportunities for future use.

Desired skills and experience:
- Technical writing background or proven experience with grant-writing
- Strong research and writing skills and excellent communication skills
- The ability to work independently and take initiative
- Detail oriented
- Dedicated to protecting and promoting a woman’s right to choose

This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity.

Estimated time: 10-15 hours per month (*the time will vary, but this is a good average over the course of a year)
