Description:

CNFA's Farmer-to-Farmer program, part of USAID's global John Ogonowski Farmer-to-Farmer Program, provides opportunities for U.S. farmers, agribusiness professionals and other agriculturists to help contribute to democracy-building and the development of a market economy by sharing their expertise with aspiring entrepreneurs across the globe. American volunteers travel to Moldova to share their knowledge in high value agricultural crop production, food processing, farm financial management and business planning, marketing, cooperative/organizational development, livestock production, banking and finance, and rural credit.

Launched in 1996, the CNFA® Farmer-to-Farmer Program in Moldova is making a substantial contribution to helping smallholder farmers make the transition to the gradually emerging private market economy. Many agricultural cooperatives, agribusinesses, and farmer groups are struggling to compete in the market economy and FtF is working to strengthen Moldovan ability to perform in the marketplace.

All volunteer assignment expenses are covered by CNFA®. Assignments are typically 16-19 days long and seek U.S. citizens or green card holders with extensive professional experience in agriculture.
