Description:

CNFA's Farmer-to-Farmer program, part of USAID's global John Ogonowski Farmer-to-Farmer Program, provides opportunities for U.S. farmers, agribusiness professionals and other agriculturists to help contribute to democracy-building and the development of a market economy by sharing their expertise with aspiring entrepreneurs across the globe. American volunteers travel to Ukraine to share their knowledge in high value agricultural crop production, food processing, farm financial management and business planning, marketing, cooperative/organizational development, livestock production, banking and finance, and rural credit.

CNFA sent its first Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer to Ukraine in 1993, shortly after the country gained independence from the Soviet Union. Since then, volunteers have worked in a wide variety of areas. The focus areas of our current work in Ukraine is to help farmers increase their incomes by improving their access to markets, their access to credit and their access to agricultural inputs.

All volunteer assignment expenses are covered by CNFA®. Assignments are typically 16-19 days long and seek U.S. citizens or green card holders with extensive professional experience in agriculture.
