Description:

Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast is working on the new construction of homes for families affected by Hurricane Katrina as well rehabbing homes damaged by the storm.

Volunteers work with construction supervisors to complete the following tasks: framing houses, raising walls, shingling roofs, installing windows, doors and vinyl siding, painting, installing trim and completing the final "punch-out" work before a home can be occupied.

Currently, our service area includes Harrison, Jackson and Stone Counties in Mississippi.

Volunteers build Tuesday through Saturday from approximately 8:00am until 4:00pm.

No skills are required to volunteer. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Local volunteers as well as out of town volunteers are invited to come work with us.
