Description:
Purpose:
To educate visitors about the exhibitions in the Museum and how they relate to
the local community. To provide visitors with information on the mission, goals and vision of the Museum.
Duties:
A. Staff exhibit desk to monitor Museum entrance and help interpret 1st Floor exhibits.
B. Maintain a presence in the Museum gallery as an information source for visitors. Float between galleries in both buildings to interpret all Museum exhibits.
Attend training sessions and keep informed and up-to-date on changes in the exhibitions.
Qualifications:
Interest in and general knowledge of the history of
Fredericksburg and the surrounding region. An ability to work well with people, and a willingness to approach visitors and initiate conversations. Some light computer use preferred, but not required.
Time Requirement:
A minimum of four hours per month with additional mandatory
training sessions. A twelve month commitment.
