Position Summary:
School Choice Illinois bring people together to empower individuals work towards expanding educational options for children in Illinois. School Choice Activist assist with our advocacy efforts by meet with local legislators, respond to legislative action alerts, and educating the community on School Choice Illinois. Parent Advocate can work from home.
Responsibilities/Duties:
• Serve as “front line” for Advocacy efforts
• Respond to legislative action alerts through phone calls, emails, letters &/or faxes to legislators
• Meet one-on-one with legislators
• Monitor relevant advocacy issues
• Communicate actions and meeting with supervising staff
• Educate and recruit community members to join the school choice movement
Qualifications:
• Commitment to respond to advocacy alerts and educate on issues
• Ability to follow through on commitments
• Stay up-to-date of the current trends and issues with school choice
Training/Orientation:
Complete volunteer application. Mandatory volunteer orientation and training. Read all newsletter and emails on updated school choice information.

Time Commitment:
