Description:
A volunteer (or team of two) will serve as the team manager for an amateur adult co-ed sports team. Sports will vary according to season: basketball, volleyball, softball or other. Must commit to one evening each week for a minimum of three months or length of the sport’s season.
Duties:
• Possess relevant experience related to the sport. Minimal knowledge regarding the game is acceptable. Be on time and prepared for the activity.
• Role of team manager is to encourage the members of the team and build self-esteem while improving physical health and focusing on teamwork (not win/lose). Nurture self-confidence and trust in others. Treat every member of the team equally and respectfully, regardless of skill. Support the efforts of the coaches.
• Required to drive a larger van, provided by Guild Incorporated, to transport people to and from practice and games.
• Be friendly while respecting the individuality and privacy of the team members. Conduct a reminder call to team members the day before practice or game. Maintain an attendance list. Report any concerns, maintain regular communication and coordinate schedule with the supervisor.
