St. ANTONY NURSERY & PRIMARY SCHOOL
In everybody's life, childhood is a crucial and special time and a child's rights to survival, health and education should be fulfilled. In the Education sector, our organization is running St. Antony Nursery and Primary school in our home town VIRUDHUNAGAR.and the students are from poor and middle class families. Classes are from Pre k.g. to V standard and kids from low income family backgrounds like auto rikshaw drivers and daily waged labourers are studying here.
This School has been recognized by the Government of Tamilnadu vide letter No. 91, dated 31-2-2008 of the Chief Educational officer, VIRUDHUNAGAR. Financial assistance is not provided by the Government and we have to run this school from UNITY CHARITABLE TRUST's resources.
Mrs. M. MARY VIJAYA, chief functionary of UNITY CHARITABLE TRUST is the correspondent of this school and ten teachers and nine non teaching staff are working in this school.
At present, we are running this school in a rented building with huge cost for rent. Land and new building are required. The land cost and building cost seem to be in the higher side, however, we have to shift the school to a new building as the strength of the students increases year by year.
We have to raise this school to higher secondary level and efforts are on to raise funds for this.
