Description:
Globalhood is looking for an individual who is passionate about creating positive change in the development field. We are seeking someone with enthusiasm and energy, and strong skills in organizational, technical, writing, and leadership areas.
You will work with staff and overseeing the executive director, to develop existing ideas, and assist in creating and/or guiding new innovative projects that reflect your knowledge of people & health, and the diversity of Globalhood's clientele.
The person in this position must have knowledge and experience in public health at a doctoral level. To alleviate world poverty and educational challenges. The director must be able to see the interrelated factors resulting in epidemics and pandemics which affect sustainability, and be able to oversee the development of projects (including but not limited to curriculum development) which promote psychological, behavioural and economic changes.
This is a non-paid position and requires 10hours/month. It is an opportunity to grow with a multidisciplinary and multicultural organization, alliances with various UN agencies and CBO, in which the objective is to ensure sustainability in communities around the world.
It is preferred that the person in this role has more than 10 years of the following experiences:
*Experience working at the ground level and policy level
*Organizational/Department Management
*Experience in the development and execution of the annual operating plan including profit and loss accountability.
*Experience providing day-to-day oversight for projects in the developing world
*Experience working with health providers, clinicians, developing relationships with clinics, CBOs, NGOs, and ensuring compliance with organizational or department objectives as well as government regulatory requirements for projects [through the development, implementation, delivery and where applicable continuance/maintenance].
*Experience developing healthcare or health education projects, and conducting primary research on health related issues respective to the community involved in.
*Experience working with a wide range of diverse clientele from various social and economic groups.
Required:
MD, PhD with a MPH/Masters in Health Communications OR a Dr.PH
