The mission of CASA is to provide voice and advocacy for abused and neglected children by serving as the eyes and ears of a Judge. CASA in Louisiana served over 3,400 abused and neglected children in 2006 through recruiting, training, and supporting over 1,300 volunteers. CASA volunteers are everyday, Louisiana citizens who have taken up the challenge and have become heroes for our most at-risk victims. The number of children needing a CASA volunteer continues to grow, however, and all local programs have reported a need for more volunteers to meet the increased demands placed on their individual programs.
