Description:
Globalhood is looking for an individual who is passionate about creating positive change in the development field. We are seeking someone with enthusiasm and energy, and strong skills in organizational, technical, writing, and leadership areas.
*Board Member -Director of Fundraising
This is a unpaid position and requires a commitment of 5-10 hours/month. It is an opportunity to grow with a multidisciplinary and multicultural organization with offices in various countries, alliances with UN agencies and CBOs, in which the objective is to ensure sustainability in communities around the world.
The board director is a key functional member of Globalhood and requires strong skills in the following areas:
*Ten years fundraising for a major organization or corporation with demonstrated success in supporting large projects/events.
*Ability to supervise and manage staff in a collaborative, team-oriented unit.
*Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical issues with both technical and non-technical audiences and strong oral/presentation and written communications skills.
*Track record of successful cross-department collaborations.
*Track record that shows leadership, a strong commitment to client service and creative thinking/problem solving.
*Familiarity with databases, financial systems and campaign management tools.
*Familiarity with and understanding of Donor Management Software and tools.
*Experience in a senior management capacity in the area of fundraising and donor research
*Developing, implementing and monitoring progress toward short and long term fund- raising strategy and goals.
*Cultivating relationships with current and prospective donors and supporters, both individual and corporate.
*Maintaining oversight for all fund raising and financial development activities including special events, major giving, planned giving, grants, direct mail appeals, and community partnership initiatives.
*Researching, planning, writing, and submitting grant applications.
*Managing expense budgets for all fund raising, public relations and communication efforts.
*Serving as a public representative of the organization, including cultivating relationships with community members, in order to build awareness of organizational undertakings.
*Developing and maintaining a database of supporters and donors, and establishing a means of regular communications.
*Experience working with senior management
*experience managing staff and developing organizational tools to ensure timely management and organizational needs concerning both low-end and high end financial supporters.
*experience in the areas of stewardship
*Planning, organizing, training, developing, implementing, directing, and evaluating all
aspects of a fundraising and development department.
*experience in prospect research.
Must have proven success developing extremely effective corporate partnerships or leading significant sponsorship or fund-raising efforts.
Must have an interest in non-profit undertakings
*Skills required include: Management, Results Orientation; Strategic Planning Skills; The ability to understand the needs of high level clients.
*BA/BS required
*Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Fundraising and/or
Financial Development.
