Description:

Volunteer docents will lead student groups through our
interactive 5 acre riverside grounds at the Redbud Center here in
Austin, TX. Volunteers will provide students with hands-on opportunities
to view and explore the river and water. Teachable moments and hands-on
experiments throughout this beautiful green space will teach students
about water conservation, nonpoint-source and point-source pollution,
water sources and watersheds, water quality testing, and river systems.
Interns will also assist in the research and development of future
science education programs. Volunteers must commit to at least two, 4 hour shifts each month, but are encouraged to commit more.
