Description:
Volunteers are needed to shop for groceries the day before a refugee family’s arrival. The volunteer uses a supermarket gift card and a shopping list to purchase food for the family and then drops off the purchases at the family’s apartment during the apartment set-up. This job may be done in cooperation with apartment set-up volunteers, so that the team of volunteers stocks the family’s refrigerator and pantry as part of the set-up. Sometimes, however, only the grocery shopper will put away the groceries bought for the incoming family. This opportunity can also be completed anytime during the week or weekends.
How to Apply:
Volunteers must complete an orientation and pass a background check before beginning. Please contact Shelley Dewig, Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@kyrm.org or at (502) 479-9180 ex. 53 for an application and to schedule an orientation, or visit our website at www.kyrm.org to submit an online application.
