Description:

KRM is always looking for dedicated individuals who enjoy working with our refugee toddlers and mothers at the Family Life Center located at Highland Baptist Church on the corner of Cherokee and Grinstead. The Center is dedicated to providing English classes for mothers who will not be working in the near future due to the young age of their children so that they may have a chance to become better assimilated in American culture. Volunteers would be responsible for assisting the teachers in the children’s classrooms or supervising the babies in the nursery. Volunteers working with the ESL class would be responsible for teaching English/civics lessons to a small group of refugee women and assisting the ESL teacher. The Center is open every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am-12:30pm.

How to Apply:

Volunteers must attend an orientation and pass a background check before beginning. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@kyrm.org or (502) 479-9180, ext. 53 to ask for an application and schedule an orientation. You can also visit our website at www.kyrm.org to learn more
