Description:
The sponsoring organization is the Center for Service Learning (CSL) at Stetson University, which reports to the Director of the Department of Community Engagement. The Division of Campus Life (under which the Department of Community Engagement is structured) aims to "Educate, Enrich, Engage and Empower" students, faculty, staff and community members. From this mission, the Department created the CSL in 2007 to support collaboration between community partners and Stetson students, faculty and staff - with a focus on creating and promoting service-learning opportunities. Our programs are driven by students, who either coordinate or directly assist with the coordination of over 50 organizations that involve a service component - many of which conduct service-learning, including our 60-member Bonner Scholars Program, CAUSE (Campaign for Adolescent and University Student Empowerment), and CHOMI (Center for Holistic Microcredit Initiatives).
