Description:
Assist our Special Education Teacher in her classroom as a tutor. Guide and support our adolescent patients as they work through two national computerized software programs: "I Can Learn" focusing on upper level math, pre-algebra and algebra; "Fast ForWord" focusing on language development. Provide general, one-on-one tutoring in a variety of subjects including English, math (fundamentals and higher), American history and government, and science (biology and chemistry). Assist with the development of life skills, such as: budgeting and time management, balancing a checkbook, filling out job/college applications, mock interviewing, and menu preparation. Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older.
