Description:
The Website Translator will keep the American Red Cross in Greater New York (ARC/GNY) website current and relevant by translating news stories of interest to the Russian community. The Website Translator will also translate materials for other ARC/GNY departments as requested. Responsibilities include:
• Analyzing current Russian site content
• Developing and implementing a plan for translating Russian site content
• Submitting pages and documentation to Webmaster
• Verifying that the translated pages are uploaded correctly
• Vetting other translators’ work for accuracy
Time Commitment/Shifts:
4 to 8 hours per week during regular business hours
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Fluency in Russian and English
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications
Training/Support:
• Volunteer Orientation & Fulfilling Our Mission (4 hours)
• Additional training to be provided by department
