Description:
Since 2004, we have been accomplishing our goal of empowering some of Nakuru’s most vulnerable people through a variety of programs. These include the following:
• Handicraft and baking program – this project provides training and a location where women can put their skills into practice;
• Micro credit programme – Our micro credit project aims to alleviate poverty and empower women, by allowing them to further their small-scale initiatives.
• Orphan Programme – This programme involves meeting the basic needs of more than 80 children who are orphaned or living in extreme poverty. It involves providing basic necessities such as clothing, shoes, medical care, housing and food.
• Education Programme – More than 80 children and 40 women are currently receiving an informal education through this initiative.
• Counselling and peace keeping Programme – Women and children who previously abused drugs or have been displaced receive counseling, rehabilitation and advice through this initiative.
• HIV/AIDS Programme: This programme works with the infected and the affected to mitigate the effects it has on individuals, families and the local communities. The programme aims to equip women, offer counseling, testing and home-based care.
• Feeding Programme: The children involved in this programme receive a hot breakfast and hot lunch each day.
We have been very successful. Every day, more than 80 children and over a hundred women benefit from our projects. But we can’t do it alone – and that’s where you come in. In order to continue our work, we need your support. We are specifically looking for a project cordinator to help us with ideas and ways to do it
