Description:
Health care is still above the financial scope of the over 65% Ghanaian"s who live below the poverty line. Malaria, typhoid, pneumonia and tetanus are treatable diseases yet many still die as a result of not receiving proper medical
care.
Government-run hospitals and medical clinics are ill equipped to handle the volume of people in need of Healthcare. As a volunteer you can help by sharing your medical skills and working alongside local staff to provide those in need with basic medical care.
We works with community medical centers and Government-run hospitals where the poor sought for medical attention.Volunteers have the opportunity to work in this areas and this role is suitable for self-directed, caring people who are medically qualified.
Volunteers work with local Medical staff to assist with the daily medical routine -applying dressings, prescribing minor medication, recording patient history, patient consultations,minor surgery, and counseling patients. Volunteers can work in the areas of maternal health, laboratory work, dental clinics, counselling, and testing. There is a great need for more nurses and medical personnel to come and volunteer their time in these needy centres. We also need volunteers to help in creating health practice & hygiene awareness to our people in the villages.
Program Costs:
US $600. Per Month Stay on a program.
