Description:
The nurse will work in conjunction with a local staff and will be responsible with:
- Health provision and first aid for the 27 children on the
orphanage premises.
- Maintenance of all orphanage medical supplies
- Bi-monthly health checks for the 80 children we sponsor
REQUIRED SKILLS: nursing or health related training, willingness to learn and work with children.
LOCATION OF THE PROGRAM
The program is located at Maragwa, central highlands of Kenya, 70 kilometers from Nairobi
DURATION OF THE PROGRAM
The duration depends on the volunteer’s availability and travel arrangements. We accept volunteers both short-term, 2-4 weeks and long-term, 1- 3 months. For volunteers wanting to travel, we are able to assist with providing information.
PROGRAM FEE
US$90 per week payable prior or upon start of the program.
FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION
Food & accommodation are provided as part of the program.
AIR TICKET AND TRAVEL COSTS
Volunteers are required to purchase their own airline tickets.
AIRPORT PICK-UPS
A representative of the program will meet you at the airport upon arrival.
PERSONAL EXPENSES
services such as internet, telephone, countryside travels, gift items, amenities etc are available at a small fee
