Description:
The banker will work in conjunction with the development worker, and will be responsible with:
- Coordination of savings and loan program for the women of our community
- Record-keeping
- Fundraising for micro-loans
- Research into investment opportunities
- Meetings with participants to assess progress and offer encouragement
- Project assessment
REQUIRED SKILLS: micro-credit or business related training, willingness to learn and work with women.
LOCATION OF THE PROGRAM
The program is located at Maragwa, central highlands of Kenya, 70 kilometers from Nairobi
DURATION OF THE PROGRAM
The duration depends on the volunteer’s availability and travel arrangements. We accept volunteers both short-term, 2-4 weeks and long-term, 1- 3 months. For volunteers wanting to travel, we are able to assist with providing information.
PROGRAM FEE
US$90 per week payable prior or upon start of the program.
FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION
Food & accommodation are provided as part of the program.
AIR TICKET AND TRAVEL COSTS
Volunteers are required to purchase their own airline tickets.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
A representative of the program will meet you at the airport upon arrival.
PERSONAL EXPENSES
services such as internet, telephone, countryside travels, gift items, amenities etc are available at a small fee
