Description:
The General Support Specialist supports special projects for which the supervising Volunteer Partner is responsible. The Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining records, documenting meetings, and updating My Red Cross group pages.
Development projects include mailings, database management, My Red Cross maintenance and telephone outreach. Telecommuting is an option but volunteer must be available to work at American Red Cross in Greater New York (ARC/GNY) Headquarters.
Time Commitment/Shifts:
5 – 10 hours per week during regular business hours, with possibilities for telecommuting
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications
• Knowledge of MS Excel a must
• Knowledge of MS Access a plus
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent phone manner
Training/Support:
• Volunteer Orientation & Fulfilling Our Mission (4 hours)
• Additional training to be provided by department
