ABOUT NEW GLOBAL CITIZENS
New Global Citizens (www.newglobalcitizens.org) is a young, dynamic non-profit organization built around our belief in the power of young people to change the world. Our mission is to educate, equip, and mobilize youth to help solve the greatest challenges faced by communities across the globe. NGC connects the remarkable enthusiasm, commitment and innovation of youth in the United States with solutions created by grassroots social entrepreneurs. NGC is rapidly building a growing movement of young people across the country taking action to support solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
New Global Citizens is hiring 2 VISTA members to serve as Partnership Associates to start summer 2009.The Partnership Associate is responsible for assisting the Director of Partnerships in managing relationship with all of NGC’s partners. The Partnership Associates will also collaborate with the Director of Delivery and Support and the Program Associates to ensure information on partners and global projects are presented and communicated with student teams. New Global Citizens operates in an entrepreneurial environment in which individual staff members own, manage, and lead certain functions within the organization to keep the movement growing in an innovative and efficient manner. To that end, the first Partnership Associate is responsible for the following functions:
• Developing an enhanced system for communication amongst NGC, students, and both our national and international partners
• Managing the communication between partners, global projects and teams thorough the NGC website and other online forums
• Working with the Delivery and Support team to connect partners, global projects and students effectively
• Updating global project information on the NGC website
• Exploring ways to utilize technology to connect teams to global projects
• Establishing a system for tracking global project work and NGC teams
• Researching possible partners and potential global projects for NGC teams to support
• Researching NGC/Partner joint grant opportunities
• Researching technology grants our Global Project partners may apply for
• Developing a training manual to educate partners and potential partners on NGC's mission, vision, and program
• Researching current articles, news, development, and events about 8+2 issues, global projects, partners, and countries of interest
• Work with partners and the Director of Delivery and Support to gather information from partners to use for curriculum
• Research potential recruitment partners
• Manage data required for all recruitment partners
• Research potential possibilities to deepen partner relationships and partner integration into the NGC program
Additional Requirements:
• Must meet the requirements of VISTA service (see below)
• Knowledge of and commitment to sustainable international development
• Ability to work in a multicultural context as a flexible and respectful team player
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to determine priorities and respect deadlines
• Bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience in a relevant field preferred
• Ability to work in and entrepreneurial and collaborative environment with the “typical” day involving unexpected opportunities, a fervor of new ideas, lots of belly laughs, and laser point concentration to complete a task and move on to the next.

• Experience in managing relationships with diverse constituency.
• Excellent written and oral communication, consensus building, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work independently and be highly self-disciplined.

• Significant international experience strongly preferred.
