Description:

Share what you know and love with the children of New Bedford!

WHO: Any individual or group with skills to share with young people aged 11-14!

WHAT: Teach your profession or hobby in after-school apprenticeships. No teaching experience is necessary! All Citizen Schools volunteers receive intensive training and are supported by a full-time, professional educator every step of the way. Lawyers turn their apprentices into prosecutors, artists cultivate young muralists, cooks teach apprentices how to create healthy delicacies, and engineers lead students into becoming inventors.

WHEN: Volunteers teach weekly 90-minute learning projects for 11 afternoons. The fall session begins in late August and ends in mid-December.

WHERE: Citizen Schools runs at the Keith Middle School (225 Hathaway Boulevard) and the Normandin Middle School (81 Felton Street).
