Description:

Reading Partners is a volunteer-based program that assists students (PreK-4) in Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in acquiring reading skills and increasing their enjoyment of literature.

The Need
* If a child has not learned to read by the end of third grade, he or she is at risk for all future academic achievement, for high school graduation, and for successful employment.
* At least 75% of today’s jobs require at least a ninth-grade reading level

Make a difference in the life of a child! We're looking for volunteers to read with elementary school children who need individual support. Volunteers work with their student once weekly for 30 minutes each session, September through May.
